Funny Mondays: The whole world is full of Whovians.

WE LOVE DOCTOR WHO. Just thought i'd throw that out there. Laura had never watched it, never wanted to, but i managed to make her watch one episode and it was love at first watch. And, btw, you are all idiots if you don't like it. What's there not to love?!

Bake of the week! 29/09/2013

I'd like to start with a sorry.. I forgot to take any photos of this week's bake, oops! So you'll be getting photo's from the original recipe, and a good description of it. This bake really is a staple, in our house anyway, it fills the house with lovely smells and really makes you want to dive in. It's, of course, Banana Cake!

Picture taken from This Mummy blog
We do love a good banana cake, when it's good, it's great. But if it's not good, you'll know about it, however this banana cake is explode in your mouth heaven. Obviously we used fake egg and we always cook with Vitalite. Vegan ingredients don't take away anything from the cake, it's still super moist and super duper banananananery. It only lasted us a few days because it's so yummy, so go on, send your minions to whip it up.

Tip #4

Keep warm! We will be doing a dedicated post on this soon as it's super important but here's a little tip. We all know getting cold can really tire you out, even for a big strong man like me! So, you need lots and lots of blankets, some extra snuggly clothes, an electric blanket, maybe a fluffy onesie and preferably a furry friend to snuggle up with. Keep warm people.

Bake of the week! 22/09/2013

Laura's been fancying a good crumble for some time now and i just didn't get around to making one, so i thought i'd change that and make one using her very favorite fruit... Raspberries! She goes crazy for them. If i ever come home with raspberries, they're gone in about 40 seconds. To bulk out the crumble i found a recipe with apples too, lovely. Here it is.

I halved the amount of ingredients because it seemed a lot for just two people to me. I also added a handful of oats to the topping mixture because i think it adds a nice crunch. Lots of textures are good! Also, you don't have to use fresh raspberries, i let frozen ones half defrost and it worked fantastically.  We had ours with ice cream and custard (separate occasions of course) which works so well with crumble.

To the next year!

For any of you that don't know, our anniversary is on the 18th of September, and this year i took Laura to Bournemouth to get away. We had a lush room in a posh hotel overlooking all of Bournemouth beach, and by jove the views were breathtaking! So, rather than rambling on we'll share some lovely pictures with you.

The view from our room! Ooooh, Aaaaah.
Laura's loving the sights (i'm so pleased).
We could've stayed there forever, but it was a tad nippy.
You could honestly see for miles, a lot of miles.
We do love a good couple selfie.
Time for tea, you can't eat anything other at the beach. Ever.
When we get the chance we like to pop into smiths to get a collection of magazines to read together. Just like old people.
We don't do naps after food, we do snuggles.
This pic isn't the best but the full moon over the sea... Wow.
Our new favorite photo, it sums us up to a T.
Breakfast bought to our room so Laura didn't have to get up, eating breakfast watching the sea!
Laura loves this photo.
We sat in the car on the sea front for a bit, soaking it all in before we came home.
Happiness.
I can drive us everywhere and anywhere.
Nice, eh? This year, Me and Laura have been together for 4 whole years, and for the last 3 we've been inseparable, this damn fine blog is a testament to that. We've grown so much together, and right now we've never been happier. So, seeing as we're in such a good place, we're going to set some goals for our 5th year of being together. You can keep a close eye on us as we're going to make a shiny new tab to keep ourselves in check.

  • Take Izzy on holiday.
  • Watch a new documentary every month.
  • Rescue a friend for Izzy.
  • Go swimming.
  • Read one non-fiction book a month.
  • Reach 50 followers on bloglovin - help us out ;)
  • Make something new every week for Bake Of The Week.
  • Go to a festival.
  • Try something new every month.
  • Get our own place.

We'd just like to say Thank You to all of you that read our blog for helping us to 'man up' over the past few months, become more driven and confident. Enough soppy bollocks.

The best day of the year.

This is a post written by Laura.

Warning: Excess soppiness.

Woah. 4 years. That doesn't sound enough though, it feels like we've been together forever. To be honest, i really can't remember life without Michael and i wouldn't want to either. People laugh at us, but we've been told by my younger brothers and sisters that they want to be like us and i love it. Anyone who knows us will tell you we're tied to each other, every second we're apart is unbearable and we miss one another if Michael goes to cook lunch! So. So. Awful. Every movement is revolved around him as his are me, we definitely love a good snuggle. In fact, if we haven't had time for a proper snuggle all day then we're both quite grumpy (this sounds crazy but oh well). So, as a little present for my man i thought i'd do a little *I love you for* post especially for him. So, here goes.

I Love You For:

  • the way you look at me.
  • how gentle and kind you are.
  • wrapping me up away from the world.
  • your crazy amounts of passion.
  • the fire in your body.
  • being the only one who can make me properly laugh.
  • never giving up.
  • worrying about me 24/7.
  • looking after me day in day out.
  • loving me, warts and all.
  • holding my hand through everything.
  • making me smile as soon as i open my eyes.
  • always trying your hardest.
  • being the weirdest person i've ever met.
  • doing all the crap stuff.
  • how you look after our animals.
  • growing up.
  • loving only me.
  • making everything fun.
  • telling me i'm beautiful a thousand times a day.
  • the way you make my heart pound.
  • being with me for the rest of our lives.
I know that last one's going to happen. People say anything could happen but they're not like us, everyone finds it weird how close we are, how we never argue and spend every second of every day together. It's what works for us, we can't be apart and nobody and nothing can change that. I love him with all my heart and i know he feels the same, i see it in his eyes every time i catch him staring at me. You can't change a love like that. So, Michael, here's to infinity and beyond!

I Love You.

A very special Birthday.

This is a post written by Laura.

Just a warning guys, this is going to be an awesome post!

All my amazing presents.
Friday the 13th was my 20th Birthday! 20! I really can't believe that, but i suppose all of you who have M.E will know what i mean. The time goes so bloody quick and sometimes you're left wondering where on earth it all went and what happened in that time. It's definitely odd to say i'm in my 20s now but i feel like things are looking up and these years are going to be the best ones yet (excuse the cheese). You might not agree but i'd much rather be ill and happy than well and miserable and at the moment i am definitely the first! I might be the worst i ever have health wise but i am so bloody happy.

My Birthday was such a lovely day, although i am extremely knackered now! I woke up to Michael giving me presents and opening all my cards, then he made me some delicious vegan pancakes filled with the vegan lemon curd my Mum made me as a little present. We spent the rest of the morning snuggling and chatting, what more could a girl want? Mum came home at 2 to give me her pressies and we had a good ol' sniff fest with my LUSH goodies. Then, my siblings drifted through starting with my youngest brother and sister coming round after school, Ashleigh-Paige is growing into a mini me of The Only Way Is Essex (God help us!). We had a really nice time talking to my younger brother, Bradley, for a good couple of hours. I have to say, he is like the mirror image of Michael, it's quite scary how similar they are, Bradley even came round in an outfit made up of all Michael's hand-me-downs! Later Terri (my other mother) came round for tea with my favourite (i'm allowed, it's my Birthday) sister who sat on my bed chatting for hours, i'm just saying that girl could talk the hind legs off a donkey. But, my Birthday didn't end there, yesterday we had Izzy to stay over night, having a lot of snuggles and kisses! And we even saw our best friend's parents for a couple of hours which was really nice.

I'm one of those annoying people that doesn't ever ask for presents, i can honestly say i am so happy just to be with everyone i love. But, no-one listens to me, as usual, so i thought i'd show you what i was given.

On the left i have all my best cards, one from Michael, Ryan, Mum and Kym. They're all so thoughtful and lovely, and yes, i did cry. Those made my day. I've got a pretty dress that Mum bought me and a gorgeous watch from Michael, about time i actually found the time out for myself rather than 'Michael! What's the time?!' over and over again. Now, on the right we have some controversy. A leather bag! Now, before you all start booing hear me out. I've always wanted a simple bag that i can hand down the generations, i never had anything like that but i know i would've loved it so that's what i'm doing. But, i promise this is my last piece of cow. End. Of. I have the most softest, comfiest, snuggly, cardigan ever from Mum, i'll be living in that this winter, just try not to get it messy. My canvas is so lovely and it means a lot to me, it's Pinnochio and it's now hanging above my bed so i can peek a look all the time.

LUSH. My Mum went to their store last weekend to get me a collection of their offerings and boy, am i glad! Michael also got me the biggest perfume bottle i've ever seen, but i'm pretty sure it won't last long. So, expect some reviews over the next month or so. And, we'll have a few more posts like this over the next few weeks as we've got a lot going on. I'll put the names/links of all my presents at the bottom of the post so you can all have a little look.

Finally... WE HAVE A CAR!!! It's super comfy and perfect for little trips out. This means so much to us, i can finally get out of the house without needing about 20 people to help (maybe a slight exaggeration) but it means i can go out for 10 mins, even if it's only once a month. I'm definitely looking forward to taking the dogs to a little field and watching them run wild from the comfort of
the car.

Bake of the week! 15/09/2013

This weeks bake of the week is a bit of a special one because... It was Laura's birthday! So it's obviously her Birthday cake. Laura says it the best ever! But i'm not so sure... Don't get me wrong, the cake itself tastes absolutely amazing, it's the best lemon cake that's ever existed, ever in the multiverse, since the beginning of time, ever. But i didn't want to give her a normal cake so i tried to... sculpt it? This wasn't a good idea.

As you can see, it just fell apart. The cake has a really loose crumb and when i stabbed at it trying to make it into a star it couldn't take the pain. Laura loved it though! With the excess cake i squidged them into balls and put them into the fridge overnight to firm up. Then the next day i dipped some in vegan white chocolate, and some in lemon icing. Needless to say, everyone likes balls ;)

You can get the recipe for this divine cake here, and impress everyone with it. Because Laura's vegan i have to adapt most recipes and had to use an egg substitute, but it made no difference to the scrumminess. Bouncer will tell you!
